CareFlight has proudly added the Katherine Country Club logo to the exterior of its AW139 helicopter based in Darwin.

Announced as the winner of the highly sought-after opportunity at the 2025 Club CareFlight Member Draw, Katherine Country Club is a key part of the region’s social life and community connection.

To celebrate the new addition to the aircraft, CEO MD Shafiqul Islam recently visited CareFlight’s Darwin base. He reflected on their experience as a Club CareFlight member and the pride they feel in supporting a service that makes such a tangible difference to people living in regional and remote communities.

The responses below and their involvement in Club CareFlight, highlight the impact local businesses can have when they come together to support critical care from the air.

What prompted Katherine Country Club to support CareFlight?

We chose to support CareFlight because what they do is essential in the Territory, especially for remote and regional communities like ours. In the NT, distance and isolation are real, when something goes wrong, getting urgent medical care quickly can make all the difference.

Visiting the hangar really brought that to life for me. Seeing how the team operates, how prepared, structured, and mission-focused they are, made me even more confident that this is a partnership where our support genuinely helps keep a critical service running for the people of our region. It also aligns with our values as a community club: we want our success to translate into real support for the community around us.

What do you like the most about the Club CareFlight Program?

What I like most is that it’s not just “a donation and done.” The program creates an ongoing relationship, and you feel connected to the mission – you understand where the support goes and you can see the impact. It also gives that strong sense of purpose: you are backing something that’s needed year-round, and you know it helps keep emergency medical capability available when people need it most.

How has your partnership with CareFlight affected or improved your Corporate Social Responsibility?

Being a Club CareFlight member has strengthened our CSR in a practical way. As a club, we’re here to serve members, but we also have a responsibility to contribute to the community that supports us. Partnering with CareFlight is a clear, credible way of doing that because it supports a service that our region genuinely relies on. It also gives our staff and members pride, people want to belong to an organisation that stands for something and supports the Territory in a meaningful way.

Is there any message that you would like to convey to CareFlight staff and other businesses in the region?

To the CareFlight team: thank you. The professionalism and dedication you show is outstanding and my visit to the base made it clear how much discipline and teamwork goes into every mission. We genuinely admire what you do, and we are proud to support you.

To other businesses: I would say, get on board. You never know when someone you care about might need that service and supporting CareFlight is one of the most direct ways to strengthen safety and health outcomes across the Territory. Even small support matters, and when businesses step up together, it keeps this critical service strong for everyone.
