A 51-year-old motorcyclist was taken to hospital in a serious condition after colliding with a car at a suburban roundabout this afternoon.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to the scene at the Newton Road-Walters Road intersection in Blacktown at about 3.30pm.
The helicopter landed in a nearby church carpark where police were waiting to rush the medical team to the injured rider.
The man was treated for serious chest injuries, a head injury and lower leg injuries.
After being stabilised, he was placed in a road ambulance with the CareFlight medical team and taken to Westmead Hospital.
