A 12-year-old boy landed flat on his back after falling four metres while climbing during a recreational outing in the Hawksbury this afternoon.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Yarramundi shortly after 5pm, landing on the grounds near where the injured boy was being cared for by NSW Ambulance.
The CareFlight specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic team assessed the boy before he was carefully transferred to the helicopter.
He was airlifted to Westmead Children’s Hospital in a stable condition to undergo further assessment as a precaution.
