A man in his 40s was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition after being burnt while working under a car which caught fire in Lawson early this evening.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked at 5pm, landing at Bulls Camp in Woodford.

The man was conveyed from the scene by local Ambulance crews to meet the helicopter.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the man for burns to the face, shoulders and hands.

He was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition.
