A 50-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital in a stable condition after the car he was driving crashed into a brick wall at the The Entrance this afternoon.

The man suffered a medical episode and lost consciousness during the incident, hitting the wall at the front of a house. Bystanders were able to remove the man before the vehicle burst into flames.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked shortly before 4pm, landing in a park near the scene on Park Road.

Fire & Rescue crews were on scene and put out the car fire.

Ambulance paramedics treating the man met the helicopter where it landed. CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided further assistance in treating the man for chest and shoulder injuries.

The man’s condition was monitored by the medical team as he was airlifted to hospital in a stable condition.
