A toddler is in a stable condition following a near-drowning incident in the pool of her East Killara residence.
The girl was submersed for a few minutes and was momentarily unresponsive when she was retrieved from the water.
The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked to the incident by NSW Ambulance shortly after 9:00am and landed 10 minutes later in Allan Small Oval. CareFlight’s medical team made their way to the scene of the incident where NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the girl and worked to stabilise her condition.
The toddler was transported by road ambulance to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead in a stable condition under ongoing monitoring from CareFlight’s medical team.
