Two teenagers have been flown to hospital in a stable condition today after the 4WD vehicle they were travelling in rolled this morning at Gunn Point Beach.

CareFlight, operating the Top End Medical Retrieval Service on behalf of the Northern Territory Government, were tasked at 9.40am, with the Top End Rescue Helicopter complete with doctor and nurse on board departing Darwin just minutes later.

CareFlight’s helicopter landed just metres away from the crash scene less than 30 minutes after the initial call, at 10.07am to find a young female who’d been ejected from the vehicle with suspected head and spinal injuries. The second teenager, a male, received injuries to his knee.

The teenagers were assessed at the scene and airlifted across Shoal Bay to Royal Darwin Hospital for management of their injuries.
