A cyclist in his 50s has been airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital  after he was hit by a car in Warriewood this morning.

The cyclist suffered a head injury as a result of the incident which happened shortly before 11am at Narrabeen Park Parade.

NSW Ambulance transported the patient to Mona Vale Hospital helipad where the CareFlight rapid response helicopter was waiting.

CareFlight’s medical crew placed the patient in an induced coma and he was airlifted in a serious condition to Royal North Shore Hospital.
