Two workers have been electrocuted while they were excavating a footpath in Western Sydney.

It is understood that the men were injured by high-voltage underground power lines.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked to Eastern Creek at 11:00am and landed shortly after near the scene of the incident where workers had already provided first aid and NSW Ambulance paramedics were administering treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic provided further treatment to the more seriously-injured 36-year-old man who had sustained electrical burns to his face, neck, arms and hands. They assessed the patient’s condition and prepared him for transport to the Burns Unit at Concord Hospital.

The man was transported by road ambulance in a serious condition to hospital under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
