A 35-year-old golfer was lucky to escape serious injury after he was hit in the head by a golf ball this afternoon.

It’s understood the man was playing golf at a club near Hornsby when he was hit in the head by a golf ball.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was called shortly after 3pm and landed on the golf course.

CareFlight’s medical team and NSW Ambulance assessed the man on scene before he was transported by road in a stable condition to Westmead Hospital.
