A 19-year-old woman has been airlifted to hospital after she was trampled by horse at a recreational riding venue at Blackheath this afternoon.
The young tourist was leading the horse on foot when she fell and was trampled in bushland at the property.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to at 2.00pm, flying through strong windy conditions to land in a clearing at the property.
The medical team walked a short distance into bush and around a creek to meet the patient.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the woman at the scene for injures to the back and head.
Ambulance and Police Rescue crews worked with the CareFlight crew to carry the patient to the helicopter.
The woman was flown to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
