A 32-year-old man has been taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition after he was freed from truck wreckage in Eastern Creek this afternoon.

The truck driver was the most seriously injured person in the multiple vehicle accident.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to the scene and landed on the road shortly before 1.00pm.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic were assisted by Fire & Rescue crews to remove the man from the truck cabin, where it’s understood he had remained pinned for about an hour.

Ambulance paramedics were also on scene providing treatment to patients before taking them to hospital in multiple road ambulances.

CareFlight’s medical crew continued treating the male patient in a road ambulance for chest and upper limb injuries.

He was taken to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

CareFlight’s medical team praised the efforts of all emergency service crews on scene for their excellent teamwork in freeing the man from the vehicle in difficult circumstances.
