An 84-year-old male pedestrian has sustained serious head injuries after a vehicle collided with him on Lane Cove Road, North Ryde this afternoon.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked shortly after 1:00pm and landed 10 minutes later in North Ryde Public School where the specialist doctor and critical care paramedic made their way to the scene of the incident.
NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment and CareFlight’s clinical team worked to stabilise the man, intubating and placing him into an induced coma at the scene.
The man was transported by road ambulance in a serious but stable condition to Royal North Shore Hospital under ongoing treatment from CareFlight’s clinical team.
