A man, aged in his 30s, has suffered serious head injuries after his vehicle had reportedly left the road and collided with a tree this morning on The Ridgeway, Tumbi Umbi.
NSW Ambulance crews provided initial treatment to the man at the scene. The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 830am and flew to meet the team at a carpark near Tuggerah Lake in Tumbi Umbi.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the man, including an ultrasound. The man was intubated and placed in an induced coma to stabilise his condition.
The man was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
