A 20-year-old man was lucky to escape serious injury when his car rolled after a high speed collision with a tree when his car left the road on the Central Coast this afternoon.
The man was trapped for a period before emergency service crews freed him.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Mardi shortly before 4pm, landing in a paddock near the scene.
Emergency services crews, including NSW Fire & Rescue, Police Rescue and NSW Ambulance also attended.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic treated the man for abrasions and injuries to the face, chest and abdomen.
He was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
