A man in his 50s suffered serious head and chest injuries after a car rolled over him in Castle Hill this afternoon.

It’s understood the man was trying to stop the car rolling backwards on Yaringa Road when he became seriously injured.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter landed close to the scene at about 1.40pm and the specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic rushed to the patient.

The man was intubated before he was transported in a critical condition to Westmead Hospital by NSW Ambulance, with CareFlight’s medical team on board.

NSW Police and other emergency services were also at the scene assisting the man.
