A man aged in his 20s has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after he fell about three metres and was knocked unconscious at a home building site in The Ponds this morning.

It’s understood the tradesman was working at roof level on the building construction when he fell.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked shortly after 8.00am, landing on a vacant plot of land about 100 metres from the scene.

The man had regained consciousness and was being looked after by fellow workers until emergency crews arrived.

Ambulance paramedics providing initial treatment for the man were assisted by CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic.

CareFlight’s critical care team provided additional treatment to the man for injuries to the head and leg.

The patient was taken to hospital by road ambulance under the ongoing observation of CareFlight’s medical crew.

Police were also on scene assisting.
