An 80-year-old man was treated by medical crews while trapped in a bobcat in Dural this afternoon.

The man was trapped in the vehicle for about an hour before he was freed.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to the semi-rural area at about 4.20pm, landing in a property next to the accident scene.

NSW Ambulance were on scene and Fire & Rescue NSW were working to safely extricate the man.

It’s understood the bobcat rolled while the man was undertaking work in soft soil on the edge of a dam.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic treated the man for chest and leg injuries while he remained trapped.

Once freed, he was transported to Westmead Hospital by road, under the care of CareFlight’s medical crew and NSW Ambulance paramedics. He remains in a stable condition.
