An 18-year-old male has been flown to hospital in a stable condition after sustaining burns in a paper fire at semi-rural property north-west of Sydney this morning.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to a property in Arcadia shortly after 9am, landing in a paddock near where the incident occurred.
It’s understood the young man suffered the injuries while burning off piles of school study notes.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic treated the patient at the scene for multiple burns to his upper and lower body.
Shortly after, Ambulance, Police and Fire and Rescue crews arrived on the scene and provided assistance.
CareFlight’s medical team continued treatment as the patient was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
