A man aged in his 40’s has been taken to hospital in a critical condition after he was mauled by two dogs at a property in Tregear this afternoon.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was tasked to Tregear shortly after 1.10pm, landing at a nearby park.

At the scene, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic helped Ambulance paramedics who had started treatment on the man, who was in cardiac arrest after suffering multiple lacerations to his body.

CareFlight’s medical team quickly undertook resuscitation and provided the patient with a blood transfusion at the scene. He was intubated and placed in an induced coma to stabilise his condition.

Treatment was continued by CareFlight’s medical team as the man was transported via road ambulance to Westmead Hospital in a critical condition.

It is understood a 10-year-old girl and a 30-year-old woman were also attacked and were transported via road to Westmead Hospital.

CareFlight’s medical team praised the Ambulance paramedics on scene for their initial treatment of the man.

Police also attended the scene.
