A man aged in his 20’s was transported to hospital in a serious but stable condition after he was pulled from the water unconscious at Palm Beach this afternoon.

The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 3.30pm and landed soon after on the beach.

Off duty lifeguards and bystanders were providing CPR for the unconscious man as CareFlight’s medical crew arrived to provide treatment.

NSW Ambulance paramedics joined soon after and worked alongside CareFlight’s medical team to treat the patient.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic intubated the man, placing him in an induced coma to stablise his condition.

The patient was taken by road with NSW Ambulance to Northern Beaches Hospital receiving ongoing treatment from CareFlight’s medical team.
