A 53-year-old man has been taken to hospital in a stable condition after he was injured falling from height in Sydney’s northern suburbs this afternoon.
The man was visiting a residence in Gladesville and helping to remove a tree when he fell an estimated six metres, hitting a concrete wall and landing on a hard landscaped area.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked to Gladesville shortly before 3:30pm and landed in an oval from which the crew could quickly walk to the scene.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic joined NSW Ambulance paramedics at the scene who were providing initial treatment to the patient.
The critical care team provided additional treatment for the patient at the scene, including for multiple fractures to chest and lacerations to the head.
The CareFlight and NSW Ambulance critical care team provided ongoing treatment to the man as he was taken by road to Royal North Shore Hospital.
