CareFlight’s medical team have flown up to the Central Coast to treat a 32-year-old man after he fell from the roof of his house earlier this afternoon.
According to NSW Ambulance paramedics who were first to arrive on the scene, the man was replacing tiles on his roof when he fell a few metres to the ground, sustaining a head injury. Paramedics assessed the man before starting treatment and making the decision to task CareFlight to attend.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked shortly after 2pm, landing at nearby EDSACC Oval off the Central Coast highway near Bateau Bay.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided additional treatment at the scene to stabilise the man, placing intubating him.
The medical crew continued treatment as they took the patient by helicopter to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
