A man has been transported to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition this afternoon after the cement truck he was travelling in rolled on the M7 earlier today.
CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was tasked to the crash scene on the M7 at the underpass, near Richmond Road and Rooty Hill North Road, landing just metres from the scene minutes later.
According to witnesses, two men were travelling in the truck when it rolled over on the passenger side. The passenger was trapped in the cab of the truck, requiring Police and Fire and Rescue crews to free him.
CareFlight’s medical team treated the passenger for pain for suspected limb and pelvic fractures, and they continued to treat him on the journey to Westmead Hospital in a road ambulance. He is in a stable condition.
The driver was treated for minor injuries at the scene and transported to Blacktown Hospital.
