A CareFlight medical team and local community first aid volunteers combined to treat a man suffering cardiac complications at isolated Dundee Beach, 135 west of Darwin in the Northern Territory today.
The first aid volunteers called for support as they treated the 65-year-old man shortly before 8.30am.
Darwin’s CareFlight rescue helicopter landed on a helipad which the Dundee Beach community built beside their first aid post when it opened three years ago.
After stabilisation the man was flown under intensive care monitoring to Royal Darwin Hospital where he remained in a stable condition on arrival at 10.30am.
