A 26-year-old male has been airlifted following an off-road motorcycle accident in the Hawkesbury region late this afternoon.

It’s understood the rider crashed from an eight metre jump during a practice session.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to East Kurrajong at around 5:30pm, landing on the property near the injured man.

The specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic provided treatment for chest injuries and suspected fractures of the back. NSW Ambulance paramedics were also on scene.

The medical crews then transferred the man to the helicopter before he was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.
