A female motorcycle passenger was airlifted from the scene of a road accident north-west of Richmond late this afternoon.
The 50-year-old was injured in a collision between the motorcycle and the vehicle which had been traveling in front.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Kurmond at 4.40pm. Minutes later, the helicopter landed on the road to drop off the medical team before relocating to a rugby field in North Richmond.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic treated the woman at the scene for injuries to her lower limbs.
With the assistance of NSW Ambulance, the patient was transferred to the helicopter and then flown to Westmead Hospital for further treatment.
