A 47-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital with serious injuries after a crash on the Central Coast this afternoon.

The man fell from his bike on the Old Pacific Highway at Mount White.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked at 12.30pm, landing at a Transport Management Centre helipad.

The medical team rushed the short distance up the road to the patient with a NSW Ambulance crew.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic treated the man for injures to the chest and left arm. The medical crew noted the significant protection given by his helmet during the fall.

The patient was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
