A 49-year-old man has been airlifted to hospital in a stable condition after crashing from his motorcycle after a collision with another vehicle this morning.
The man was on a holiday tour from interstate and had just left a viewing platform at the mountains when he was involved in a collision. He was thrown from his bike and through the air a short distance and suffered injuries including leg fractures. No others were injured in the incident.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before noon and landed at an oval in Blackheath.
NSW Ambulance crews provided initial treatment to the man and conveyed him to meet the helicopter.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic provided additional care for the man at the scene.
The man was flown to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition under ongoing care from CareFlight’s clinical team.
