A 25-year-old man has been flown to hospital after he lost control of his motorcycle and ran off Wisemans Ferry Road on the Central Coast this morning.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 11am and landed 20 minutes later in clearing at a residence near the scene.
The motorcycle had crashed down an embankment with the man making his way to the side of the road, where he laid. He was helped by passing motorists, including an off-duty Fire and Rescue officer and general practitioner doctor, until CareFlight’s crew arrived.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic provided an ultrasound and treated the man at the scene for injuries the leg and shoulder.
The local managers of the bed and breakfast where the helicopter had landed used their ute to assist, with the man transferred to the helicopter.
The man was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
