A 50-year-old male remains in a stable condition after crashing his mountain bike in bush north of Sydney late this morning.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Garigal National Park around 11.30am, landing in a clear ridge nearby, the aircraft remaining positioned at Ingleside for the ensuing two hour-long operation.
The medical team walked along the bush track to the man’s location.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic began treating the man for spinal injuries.
A NSW Ambulance team arrived by 4WD vehicle soon after. The medical teams then carefully transferred the patient to the vehicle.
He was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital by road with NSW Ambulance in a stable condition.
