A man aged in his 70s has been flown to hospital in a stable condition after he was injured falling from a ladder at house on Scotland Island earlier today.

The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly after 1pm and landed soon after on a rock formation on the island.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic joined local first responders to locate the injured man.

The critical care team treated the man for leg and arm injuries at the scene.

The team was joined by NSW Ambulance paramedics and the man was then carried by the responders, transferred by Rural Fire Service boat to a waiting NSW Ambulance.

The man was conveyed to the helicopter which had repositioned safely on the mainland.

The man was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
