A painter has sustained shoulder and pelvic injuries after she fell four metres from a ladder onto concrete this morning.

The 26-year-old woman was working in a Glenning Valley residence that was under construction.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 8:40am and landed 25 minutes later in the grounds of the Mingara Recreation Club. NSW Ambulance paramedics had provided initial treatment for the woman and transported her to the club to meet CareFlight’s clinical team.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the woman and conducted an ultrasound to assess her injuries. They administered pain relief and prepared her for air transfer to hospital.

The woman was airlifted to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
