A 70-year-old pedestrian has been transported to St Vincent’s Hospital in a critical condition this evening after being hit by a scooter in Sydney’s Eastern Suburbs earlier tonight.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was tasked just after 6.30pm, to attend a collision between a female pedestrian and a scooter near Military Road, Dover Heights.

The helicopter, with doctor and critical care paramedic onboard, landed in nearby Dudley Page Reserve opposite the crash scene just before 7pm.

According to those at the scene, the woman was hit by a scooter, sustaining serious head and other injuries.

Police and Ambulance crews were already on the scene when CareFlight arrived and our medical team intubated the woman before transferring her to an ambulance to continue treatment on the short journey to St Vincent’s Hospital in Darlinghurst.

The male rider of the scooter, sustained minor injuries in the collision and was also treated at the scene by Ambulance paramedics.
