A 75-year-old man remains in hospital in a stable condition after he was hit by a car in north-west Sydney this afternoon.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Castle Hill shortly after 2pm, landing in a paddock near the central shopping centre.

The specialist doctor and intensive car paramedic rushed the short distance to where the man had reportedly been run over while crossing the road.

NSW Ambulance paramedics were on scene treating the man for abrasions and trauma injuries to the upper body.

The medical crew accompanied the man as he was taken by road to Westmead Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
