Two people were injured in Newnes State Forrest near Lithgow in NSW today when the quad bike they were riding overturned on a bush track near Bungleboori Picnic Area.
The CareFlight rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to the remote location shortly after 1pm and landed in the picnic area to meet NSW Ambulance crews who had accessed the patients just a few kilometres away.
The CareFlight specialist medical team worked with NSW Ambulance crews to treat a 14 year old boy with face and limb injuries and a 40 year old male with head and leg injuries.
The boy was taken to Westmead Hospital by Ambulance and the man was flown to Westmead Hospital in the CareFlight helicopter, arriving in a stable condition shortly after 2pm.
