A 32-year-old skydiver has sustained serious fractures to his limbs and suspected spinal injuries when both of his parachutes did not deploy.

He landed in a paddock in Wilton and lost consciousness from the impact.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance at 2:00pm and landed 15 minutes later in the paddock by the scene of the incident. NSW Ambulance paramedics were providing initial treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the man while taking spinal precautions. They conducted an ultrasound at the scene of the incident to assess his internal injuries and administered pain relief.

The man was taken by road with NSW Ambulance under ongoing treatment from CareFlight’s clinical team to Liverpool Hospital in a serious condition.
