A teenage girl crossing the road on Victoria Road, Gladesville, has been hit by a car yesterday afternoon.
The girl sustained head and leg injuries and lost consciousness from the impact. Bystanders conducted CPR on the girl while emergency services came on scene.
The Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked shortly after 4:00pm and landed five minutes later in Monash Park where NSW Police escorted CareFlight’s medical team to the scene of the incident.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic conducted a clinical assessment on the patient, carrying out an ultrasound as well as administering pain relief while taking spinal precautions.
CareFlight’s medical team provided ongoing treatment for the girl as she was taken by road with NSW Ambulance in a critical condition to The Children’s Hospital at Westmead.
