A 45-year-old man injured when his truck was involved in a collision with another truck earlier this afternoon has been taken to hospital in a stable condition.
It’s understood the collision took place after two vehicles had already collided.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Cowpasture Road in Wetherill Part at 12.14pm, landing in a paddock about 100 metres from the patient.
Ambulance crews were on scene providing initial treatment to the man, who was trapped by the legs.
While the man remained trapped, CareFlight’s critical care team assisted paramedics treating the man for chest and lower limb injuries.
Meanwhile, Fire & Rescue crews worked to help free the man. Police were also on scene.
After he was freed, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic continued to treat the man as he was taken by road ambulance to Liverpool Hospital in a stable condition.
