Two male teenagers are in a stable condition after their quad bike rolled in the Hawksbury region this afternoon.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Sackville North shortly before 1pm, landing on a property on Mud Island Road.
The CareFlight medical crew met emergency services, including NSW Ambulance and Police, at the accident location.
One of the riders suffered head injuries while the second boy suffered lower limb injuries.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic provided treatment at the scene, in conjunction with NSW Ambulance crews.
Both patients were taken to Westmead Hospital by road ambulance in a stable condition.
It was the second mission in quick succession for the rapid response helicopter crew.
Around 11.30am the helicopter flew to North Sydney where a 27-year-old man’s arm was trapped in machinery at a supermarket.
CareFlight’s medical crew arrived to provide assistance, together with NSW Ambulance paramedics. The medical crews were able to free the man’s arm without the need for surgery and he was taken by ambulance crews to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
