A woman in her 50s was lucky to escape major injury after a motorcycle fall on the Central Coast early this afternoon.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called to Wyong Creek at about midday. The CareFlight team landed in a field near the accident scene where they met volunteer rescue service and NSW Ambulance crews.

The woman had been thrown from the passenger position on the motorcycle when it came off the road around a corner. She landed in a small waterway beside the road.

CareFlight’s doctor assessed and treated the woman for minor injuries including cuts and abrasions and a suspected fractured arm.

She was then flown to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

It is understood the male rider of the motorcycle suffered only minor injuries and was taken to hospital by NSW Ambulance.
