A 25-year-old-woman was trapped in a truck for more than 20 minutes on a major highway junction in Western Sydney early this afternoon.
The woman escaped serious injury after the truck she was driving was involved in a collision with another truck. The driver of the second vehicle was not hurt.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was called just after noon, landing on an off-ramp at the intersection of the Cumberland Highway and M4 Western Motorway near Parramatta.
Emergency services including NSW Fire & Rescue, NSW Ambulance and Police were also on scene.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic assessed the woman as having non-serious injuries while she remained in the vehicle.
NSW Fire & Rescue crews were able to free the woman. She was then taken to Westmead Hospital by road ambulance in a stable condition for further tests and assessment.
