A 25-year-old woman was trapped in her vehicle for more than an hour after a collision with a power pole in the Blue Mountains late this morning.
CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Winmalee shortly before noon, landing near the accident at Summerhayes Park.
The medical crew were taken to the scene and assisted NSW Ambulance paramedics caring for the woman, who had become trapped in the car due to compression of the legs.
NSW Police Rescue and NSW Fire & Rescue worked to free the woman.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor then accompanied the patient, in a stable condition, by road to Westmead Hospital, providing her with ongoing treatment for injuries to her legs.
