A 49-year-old woman who was mauled by dogs while visiting a residence on the Central Coast has been flown to hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The woman suffered serious injuries to the legs and arms when she was attacked by two dogs on the premises.

CareFlight’s rapid response rescue helicopter was tasked to Umina Beach at 11.20am, landing in McEvoy Oval near the scene.

NSW Ambulance crews had attended the home with Police and provided initial treatment to the woman. She was taken to meet the helicopter’s critical care team where they landed.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided further treatment before the patient was loaded into the helicopter.

The woman was flown to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
