About 10:00am, Sunday 14 April, the Mounties Care CareFlight Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance to Shelly Beach Manly to assist a woman aged in her 60s who was pulled from the water by bystanders where she had become unresponsive in the water while swimming.
A boy and his father on a paddle board pulled the woman aboard and took her ashore.
CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman at the scene.
The woman was taken by road ambulance with a CareFlight specialist doctor to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
