A 37-year-old female is in a stable but serious condition after suffering multiple burns to her body at an event in Eastern Creek this morning.

The woman was attending a three day Powercruise event at Sydney Motorsport Park in Eastern Creek, when it is understood she caught alight during a car refueling process.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked just before 11.15am to the raceway, where it landed next to the onsite medical centre a short time later.

Event paramedics from Ambulance Service Australia provided initial treatment to the patient who had suffered multiple burns to her body.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic continued treatment, placing her in an induced coma to stabilise her condition.

Intensive care monitoring was continued by the CareFlight medical team as the patient was airlifted to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable but serious condition.

Ambulance paramedics and police also attended.

CareFlight’s medical team praised all three services for their assistance.
