A woman aged in her 80s has sustained injuries to her head, arms and suspected spinal injuries when the vehicle she was driving struck another car and a tree on Grace Avenue, Frenchs Forest.
The woman was trapped in her vehicle from the incident.
NSW Ambulance paramedics provided initial treatment for the woman and emergency services from Fire and Rescue NSW extricated her.
CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter was tasked by NSW Ambulance shortly before 4:00pm and landed in Lionel Watts Reserve. Paramedics transported the woman to the oval where CareFlight’s specialist doctor and NSW Ambulance critical care paramedic performed a clinical assessment on the patient, including an ultrasound. They administered pain relief and undertook spinal precautions for the patient.
The woman was taken by road with NSW Ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital under ongoing observation from CareFlight’s clinical team.
