A man is in a critical condition after he was crushed by scaffolding and collapsed building materials at a construction site in Macquarie Park earlier this afternoon.
CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was tasked just after 12.20pm to a construction site on Epping Road at Macquarie Park landing in a grassed area at the scene with police securing the landing area.
Fire and Rescue crews worked to free the man who was trapped under the scaffolding.
Once the man was freed, CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic assessed the man and provided treatment for injuries to the lower body before accompanying him to Royal North Shore Hospital via road ambulance.
Ambulance helicopter and road vehicles also attended the scene.
