A 27-year-old man has fallen into a ditch at a Marsden Park worksite and sustained injuries to his lower limbs.

It’s understood that the man accidentally fell into the trench while inspecting it.

CareFlight’s Rapid Response Helicopter team was tasked to help at 9:43AM and landed at the worksite. Fire and Rescue NSW was at the scene of the incident to provide access for CareFlight’s aeromedical team and NSW Ambulance who were already providing initial treatment.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and critical care paramedic provided further treatment to the man at the scene before he was transferred to an ambulance.

The man was transported by road ambulance with CareFlight’s specialist doctor to Westmead Hospital in a stable condition.

CareFlight’s team commented on the combined efforts from workers and emergency service teams who worked quickly and safely to ensure the man received the medical attention he needed.

NSW Police was also at the scene of the accident.
