A man was injured after he fell about four metres and landed on a steel bar at a construction site in Willoughby this morning.

It’s understood the bar went through the man’s leg and emergency services had to work to free him after he was trapped for a time.

CareFlight’s rapid response helicopter was called to the scene shortly after 10.20am, landing at a nearby school. They were met by NSW Police who brought the medical team to the site.

CareFlight’s specialist doctor and intensive care paramedic and NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the patient on scene. He was then transported by NSW Ambulance to Royal North Shore Hospital in a stable condition.
